NEW Haul Route PLUS
An award-winning solution, the SRL Haul Route PLUS is an automated barrier control system which gives full control of road / access closure to both private sites and public roads. As with our standard Haul Route Crossing, Haul Route PLUS can have various timings and delays programmed, delivering site-specific configurations, removing the requirement for an operative to observe and control the system, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
What’s more, Haul Route PLUS utilises all-red cameras to create a safe area where the potential for conflicts can occur, thereby improving safety for workers and members of the public. The solution integrates multiple barriers with various timings and portable VMS to create a safe and fully automated system. The Haul Route PLUS is also able to incorporate ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition).
Haul Route Layout

The system was used intensively and performed exceptionally well, minimising potential disruption to traffic on the extremely busy A3075 diversion route. Both Chevron and Costain were extremely impressed.

What is unique about Haul Route PLUS?
Haul Route PLUS automatically switches between the main road and haul route barrier system through detection of haul route plant vehicles. This is a wholly wireless process which prevents the need for manual activation. In addition, all timings are variable and the system will also monitor slow moving plant vehicles. The result? Improved efficiency, reduced emissions and a safer environment for workers and the public.
System functionality

Wireless
The connection between signal and barrier is wireless, using an industry standard radio system which provides reliable, consistent communication across short or long distance across any crossing setup or design.

Integration
ANPR and VMS can both be integrated into the system to permit access only to authorised vehicles, and for audit/data gathering purposes, as well as to provide live information on barrier activity.

Timers and delays
All timers and delays can be changed according to the layout and size of the site. A barrier can be delayed in its movement once a red signal is given, delayed in its movement once a green signal is given and the-all red period is configurable depending on the area size and requirements from the client, providing supreme adaptability to the client

All red detection
Each signal on the automated barrier control system is fitted with an all-red detector. This detector ensures that the conflict area is always monitored and prevents early green and barrier movement in the event of a vehicle breaking down, moving slowly or stopping, providing a major safety advantage over comparable systems.

Dual barrier system
Multiple barriers for each approach can be used improving safety and allowing for increased access control.

Haul Route Crossing
A major contributor to the building of the Aberdeen bypass in 2015 to 2018, our original Haul Route Crossing system is a very similar system to Haul Route PLUS, providing a simpler solution for shorter or less complex projects.

Key Features and Benefits

Freely-configurable program
The system is simple to configure, radio-linked and capable of up to 8 phases, complete with on/off timer programmable functionality including automatic on/off program.

Part time signals
Capable of being set as part time signals allowing your operator to configure the signals to switch off and then back on at pre-set times as appropriate (up to 4 times a day)

Day-night/weekend programs
Provides the flexibility to set up to 6 different max times for each phase for the demands at different times of day.

Remote monitoring
Enabling users to see the status of the signals (red or green) from a computer or phone. You can also monitor the battery voltage.

CCTV
CCTV can be mounted on the system, if desired.

Main Drag Priority
The system can be set to have the main drag on permanent green until a VA is activated on a side road. This is with ELC or EM.

Longer battery life
The systems batteries can last 14 days due to them having 6 in each box.

Handset control
The system can be remotely controlled using a handset by an on-site operative being able to control the system from a safe distance away from the crossings.

Variable Signal Head heights
The systems heads can be set at different heights to accommodate different vehicles
