SRL’s Adaptive Detection System is so intelligent and adaptive it can manage daily traffic flows by making automatic adjustments of green times easily, it does this by using deep learning algorithms to interpret the data received from our new high accuracy radar detector (traffic/volume/speed).
It is important whether it is planned and unplanned works not only getting equipment on-site & set up quickly but safely and efficiently too.

Advanced Radar Detection
The Adaptive Detection System is incredibly easy to set up for rapid deployment. Once the system is set up it begins to optimise max set timings, adding time to each approach when it has reached its saturation point. The system also allows for HGV start lag (HGVs slow off the mark) allowing extra time to get moving and clear the site. Once the system has seen morning peak and evening peak the system is fully optimised, however still has the ability to make dynamic changes when required.
The Adaptive Detection System is also compatible with a wide range of products, including all portable, UTMC, temporary and haul route crossing systems.

How Does It Work?
Multiphase ADS works by connecting a high accuracy radar detector (which collects vital data about real time traffic volumes and speeds at the roadside) to temporary traffic lights using a clever algorithm that adjusts the green time at traffic lights for optimum traffic management.
The busier the road, the greater the benefit from using this unique technology, which also takes into account site-specific factors like HGV lag.
SRL’s Multiphase ADS is especially effective in areas with tidal traffic flow because of its ability to reduce the build-up of traffic moving in a single direction. Once peak flow has diminished and congestion eases, this dynamic system adjusts the green time to reflect the quieter traffic conditions
Benefits For Road Users
Confident in the ability of our product to reduce congestion we looked to substantiate our in-house findings, so we asked independent consultants and industry experts at IRConsultancy/ Bryan G Hall to conduct an objective study of the system using traffic flow data and Vissim with 3-way control, in a heavily saturated tidal flow location in Yorkshire. Over a one hour period at the test junction with 3 way control, the impact of replacing basic logic with SRL’s Multiphase ADS was:
